Math Practice 6th Grade Problems:
Example 1: Solve 2x + 5 = 15
Solution:Given: 2x + 5 = 15
Subtracting 5 on both sides,we get
2x + 5 – 5 = 15 – 5
2x = 10
Dividing 4 on both sides, we get
2x = 10

x = 5
Example 2: Find the area of a parallelogram of length 9 inches and height of 9 inches.
Solution: Formula : Area of parallelogram = length * height
Given: length = 9 inches, height = 9 inches.
So, area of parallelogram = 9 * 9 = 81 square inches.
Example 3: Find the volume of a cube with length of side equal to 13.
Solution: Formula to find the volume of a cube = (length of the given side)3
Given: Length of the side = 13
So, Volume of a cube = (13)3
= 13 * 13 * 13
=2197.
Example 4: Find the area of a rectangle with base of length is 3 inches and height of 2 inches.
Solution:Area of a rectangle = length * height
So, Area of a rectangle =3 * 2
= 6 square inches.
Example 5: 95 is what percent of 100?
Solution: Perform the division operation from first number by the second number.
`95 divided by100`=>(`95/100` ) = 0.95
Multiply the answer(0.95) by 100
0.95 * 100 = 95
So 30 is 95% of 100.
