World Math Day

Introduction to world math day:

World math day is not a day to celebrate for mathematics. It is an international competition in math. World math day was started in 2007 on March 14. The date can be written as 3.14.2007. The first four numbers is same as the value of pi. So this world math day can also be say as pi day.


Playing method:


The trademark names are world maths day and world math day. Usually the questions are based on the basic math multiplication, division, addition, subtraction and equations. The students are required to answer each game in one minute. When one student is playing a game the website will find the same level player and make that player to play against the player. If there is no such competitor was found then the player will start to play against the computer. After completing the game the result of both the competitors will be individually send.

The organizer of this event is an Australian. From 235 countries over 1.13 million students participated in 2010 math world day which was conducted on March 3rd. The entire student totally solved 479,732,613 math questions correctly.


Age category and levels:


There are three categories to play a game. The category is based on ages. The three categories are 5-8 ages, 9-13 ages and 14-18 ages. The student who answered correctly for large number questions is a world champion. The champion will awarded by minted gold medal. There is a separate medal for each age group topper.

The top 10 students in each group who answered more questions correctly will receive a gold medal. All the students who answered more than 4000 questions with correct solutions will receive a world maths day gold award. The top 50 students in each group who answered more questions correctly will receive a printed certificate gold award. If the whole class was participated then the top 10 classes will receive a world math day trophy in each group. The top 50 classes in each group who answered more questions correctly will receive a printed certificate gold award.
